Terms of Use — Becoming
Last updated: 8 October 2026
These terms cover the Becoming app for Android, made by Joiner Studio. They are short and written to be read. By using the app you agree to them.
What is free
Becoming is free to use, and some of it is free for good: taking photos, keeping them, lining them up, making your 1080p video, exporting your whole archive and restoring it on another phone. None of that will ever be put behind a payment. Free videos carry a small Becoming mark.
Becoming Plus
Plus adds every tool the free app does not have, such as more projects, crops, colours and titles, carousels, and videos without our mark. The screen that sells it lists exactly what it adds. Plus is sold two ways:
- Yearly. A subscription that renews every year until you cancel it. It may start with a free trial; whether one is offered to you, and for how long, is shown before you tap and is decided by Google Play.
- Forever. One payment. It never renews, and it keeps Plus on your Google account for as long as we offer Becoming.
The price is shown in the app and by Google Play before you pay, in your own currency, plus any tax Google Play adds where you live. All payments are processed by Google Play; we never see your payment details.
Free trials
If your yearly plan starts with a free trial, it begins when you subscribe. If you cancel before the trial ends, you pay nothing. If you do not, the yearly price is charged on the day the trial ends, and the year begins. If notifications are allowed, the app reminds you two days before. Free trials are for new subscribers; Google Play decides who is eligible.
Cancelling and renewal
Cancel any time in Google Play › Payments & subscriptions, or from Settings › Becoming Plus in the app, which opens the same page. Cancelling stops the next renewal; Plus stays until the end of the year you paid for, and nothing more is charged. Uninstalling the app does not cancel a subscription.
If you stop paying
You keep what you made. Every project, photo, edit and carousel you made while you had Plus stays, and keeps working. Only new ones, and videos without the mark, need Plus again.
Refunds
Payments are made to Google Play, so refunds follow Google Play's refund policy. If something went wrong, email us at the address below and we will help.
Moving to a new phone
Plus belongs to your Google account. On a new phone, sign in to Google Play with the same account and use Restore purchase on the Plus screen. Your photos move with an archive export (see the privacy policy), because we keep no copy of them.
Your photos
Your photos and videos are yours. We never receive them, so we claim no rights to them. Only use photos you have the right to use, and do not use the app to photograph people without their permission.
Because everything stays on your phone, keeping a copy is up to you. The app gives you the tools to do it, free; it cannot recover photos from a phone that is lost, broken or reset.
The app as it is
We work to make Becoming reliable, but it is provided as it is, without promises beyond these terms and what the law where you live gives you. As far as that law allows, our responsibility for any loss is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before it. Nothing here takes away rights you have as a consumer that cannot be taken away.
Changes
If these terms change, the date at the top changes with it. A change to what a plan includes or costs never applies to a period you have already paid for, and a change to the yearly price is announced by Google Play before it applies to you.
